TIME MANAGEMENT IS THE KING IN YOUR ACCA EXAMS
Even if you have read the books from cover to cover, exercised every past examination question from the last five years, and done it all your teacher told you to do in the days and weeks leading up to the exam, it is hard to pass without also having a clear strategic plan when you are sitting in the examination room.
Managing your time effectively throughout the exam is crucial to success. There will always be plenty of simple points on any test paper, therefore it is critical that you focus on gathering those easy marks rather than being swamped in the tough portions of the examination.
The various levels of the ACCA Qualification each target a distinct intellectual level.
Even if all of the questions on the exam paper are required, it is critical to spend the reading time establishing a strategy. Even if you have to attempt all questions throughout the next three hours, there is no rule dictating the sequence in which you should do it.
Examine the exam paper and review the question criteria.
Look for questions that will put your knowledge to the test in your favorite sections of the syllabus, as well as ones that will allow you to demonstrate your abilities. For example, some students are more comfortable writing than completing arithmetic (or vice versa), so start by focusing on the topics that fit your personal skills.
Of course, there may be some queries that you dislike the appearance of. Try to push these questions to the back of your mind for the time being. The important thing is that you begin the test by attempting your favorite questions so that you accrue scores early, and only wind up taking your least favourite questions later on, when you have already scored most (if not all) of the marks required to pass.
The solution is really easy. Make the decision that work must be done within specific parameters and stick to it.
Set yourself simple goals to begin with, such as designating one night a week and every other weekend as entirely work-free zones. As you realise that doing so does not bring the world tumbling down on your head, you will gain the confidence to increase the time you allow yourself. Of course, you should consult with your spouse first.
Just to make sure, they want you to be there at the times you’ve decided should be committed to them. There’s a potential that your constant busyness has caused them to make other plans and obligations.
